• Flesh out the podman API for credential helpers if needed. I think that part will need collaboration with folks on the OCP side to understand if there's anything hard required that's missing. I think we could work with the current support that exists in auth.json and registries.conf but it's not ideal. Briefly AIUI the gaps are: (1) credsStore support for Docker parity, (2) per-registry support in registries.conf's credential-helpers (similar to auth.json), (3) ideally wildcards support in both auth.json and registries.conf though it's not clear whether even Docker supports that but the k8s does, and (4) an easier way to configure credential-helpers without tainting registries.conf (or... make it more inline with https://uapi-group.org/specifications/specs/configuration_files_specification/).
