      Deprecation text for initBundles:

We are looking to deprecate the initBundle feature in an upcoming RHACS release. In RHACS 4.7, we introduced Cluster Registration Secret(CRS) as a means to provide secure credentials to register Secured clusters with RHACS Central. This replaces the initBundle functionality to register clusters with RHACS Central. CRS provides a clear separation of credentials for bootstrapping from those used for internal component communication thus making the registration process more secure and compliant with regulatory needs. Existing clusters that have been registered with Central using initBundles, should not have any impact and should continue to function without any problems. CRS should be used for registering/adding new clusters to Central.

Deprecation text for Configuration Management Dashboard:

We are looking to deprecate our Configuration Management Dashboard in an upcoming RHACS release. This will not impact API access for Secrets or RBAC information. We will continue to enhance integration of the available security configuration data with our risk management and policy management use cases and further integrate with products such as Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management to provide policy-backed configuration insights.

Deprecation text for OpenShift Auth provider:

We are looking to deprecate OpenShift Auth as an Identity Provider for RHACS in an upcoming RHACS release. RedHat OpenShift Authentication stack is moving towards supporting only direct authentication with External Authentication provider. No further enhancements to the built-in OpenShift OAuth provider are planned and the intent is to provide integration directly with OIDC Identity Providers(IDP), something RHACS already supports today via OIDC IDP integrations.

      Deprecation text for Compliance v1:

As of ACS version 4.8, Compliance V1 has been deprecated.

While the initial deprecation notice in 4.8 specifically referenced the Compliance dashboard, this deprecation applies more broadly to all Compliance V1 functionality, including:

      • Compliance Dashboard
      • Compliance APIs
      • Compliance Configuration Management Board

These components are part of the legacy Compliance V1 implementation and are no longer under active development.

Removal of Compliance V1 functionality is expected in upcoming ACS versions.

For OpenShift users, we recommend migrating to the new Compliance version, which provides a significantly improved and more comprehensive compliance experience.
