There is some confusion around the deprecation of StackRox scanner and Scanner V4. While StackRox scanner is deprecated as of 4.9, it must be enabled in some situations still. For platform scanning, it still must be enabled. For node scanning, it does not have to be enabled because Scanner V4 can perform node scanning.

It is not safe to disable StackRox scanner in Central services until https://issues.redhat.com/browse/ROX-31439 is completed.

It is safe to disable StackRox scanner for secured clusters if you need only node scanning and Scanner V4 is enabled in Central or you do not need to scan using secured clusters.
