      CUSTOMER PROBLEM

ACS currently supports vulnerability and policy management that reflect the secured clusters' state at a particular point in time. ACS does not provide the user with data that spans a temporal dimension, such as the number of vulnerabilities over time or other trends. The goal of this epic is to add support for statistics and trends over time for key metrics that are reported by ACS. These include the number of CVEs and violations over time labelled by (cluster, namespace, deployment). To keep the implementation effort minimal, we shall leverage existing tooling where possible, such as Prometheus as a series database and Grafana as a visualzation tool.

      USERS

Customers interested in vulnerability and violation trends over time.

ACS cloud service team regularly review Grafana dashboards, but has a hard time keeping up with vulnerabilities. A Grafana dashboard with vulnerability trends fits better into their existing workflows.
