While ACS fully supports the pod-based database deployed alongside Central, there are certainly boundaries to that support. These boundaries need to be defined and articulated in a public-facing document that explains our limitations on DB support.

Once these boundaries are defined, determine if there is any adjustment to existing DB performance or maintenance work, e.g. support DB versions that aren't being used by our pod-based deployment or scaling work that may not be as valuable after establishing firm boundaries for pod-based DB support.

A few statements to kick this off (up for debate of course):

      • Pod-based DB is not supported when Scaling secured cores beyond X.
      • BYODB is always recommended over pod-based DB in production environments.
