Support Partial Import of identityProviderMappers

XMLWordPrintable

      1. What is the nature and description of the request?

The Partial Support section of a security realm allows to add different elements from a previously exported json file.
However, import of IdentityProviderMappers is not supported.
The CLI admintool should also support this.

      2. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

We want to integrate with a SAML IDP that returns a lot of attributes, which we want to map to user attributes and we have multiple security realms to manage from the same environment.
It is quite some work to enter all this information for one security realm and it would be a lot easier to manage if we would only need to do that once and could export/import that section into other realms of the same environment.

      3. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)

Add the possibility to export/import identityProviderMappers to/from a json file.

      4. For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.

Export/import from/to different realms in same environment.

      5. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?

      https://issues.jboss.org/browse/KEYCLOAK-4417

      6. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?

      The sooner, the better.
This is not blocking, however there is a huge risk of human errors and lack of overview when the mappers need to be manually added in each realm.

      7. List any affected packages or components.

      Admin Console
      Admin CLI

      8. Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented?

      Yes
