The DB Secret accepts a field named "POSTGRES_EXTERNAL_ADDRESS". In the docs we state that specifying the DB address as an IP is supported (despite hostname being preferred over IP).

It was reported that in some cases specifying IP does not work (despite not the DB not being a cluster IP).

This requires further investigation and the result should be either a docs update or a Operator fix.
