      Cloning the project locally, make the changes, and import the project again will avoid this issue.

      1. In a project create a new DataObject
      2. In the source tab include the `import org.slf4j.Logger`
      3. Create a variable `Logger LOG`
      4. Save the DO

      Result: The import and LOG variable is removed.

      When saving a DO with some imports, the variables and imports are removed (screenshot "ImportMissingIssue"). If the variable uses the full class name to be instantiated, only the import is removed (screenshot "ImportIssue). And if the import has one "" to import all classes from a package the "" is removed (screenshot "ImportAsterixIssue").
