In a PAM deployment on OpenShift, the directory for Git indexing, set in the org.uberfire.metadata.index.dir Java setting, is apparently not pointing to the shared PV. This was reported by rhn-support-lywang and rhn-support-hmiura ; as far as I could work out the version Hiroko was testing is 7.7, but I am not aware of any change in 7.8.

Adding "-Dorg.uberfire.metadata.index.dir=/opt/kie/data" significantly improves performance - apparently not just because of avoiding repeated indexing but also the indexing itself runs faster. Hiroko has provided the link to a log http://pastebin.test.redhat.com/897962 and two log files that I attach.

This surfaced when working out performance requirements as per BXMSDOC-6227, but this issue, if confirmed, is a code issue and not a documentation issue. If it is confirmed I would suggest considering a fix even for 7.8.1 but certainly for 7.9.

      rhn-support-hjoy FYI
