Feature Overview
Update the OpenStack Operator installation guide to use a manual update approval instead of automatic. The desired default situation is to have intentional updates on the OpenStack Operator and control plane rather than automatic.
Goals
- update OpenStack Operator installation guide to set the Update Approval configuration to manual (by default OLM selects Automatic)
- reference existing documentation (or create new procedures) guiding administrators to identify when an update is available and how to approve the update when desired
Requirements
Requirement | Notes | isMVP? |
---|---|---|
Installation guide is updated with new procedure step | yes | |
References to managing manual update approvals is linked or available | Preference is to link to existing OCP documentation rather than creating net-new modules. | yes |
Done - Acceptance Criteria
Content is reviewed, merged, and published for consumption in docs.redhat.com.
Documentation Considerations
This Feature only covers documentation efforts, so all standard documentation considerations are in play, but nothing more.
Questions to Answer
- is there existing OCP documentation that we can reference instead of creating net-new procedures for identifying and managing manual update approvals?
- do we want procedures that instructs customers how to convert from automatic to manual update approvals?
Customer Considerations
- provide a way that customers understand the default procedure has changed
- provide a way to convert from automatic to manual approvals
