      Initiative Overview

With the recent escalations from Customer, it has been observed that we are not running any  basic concurrency tests in our CI for creating, updating or deleting OpenStack resources like Volumes, Snapshots, Images or Attachements. This initiative is focused on adding capability to write the concurrency tests in tempests that can be enabled in our existing upstream and downstream CI at smaller scale to verify the parallelism working correctly.

      Goals

      • Implement the concurrency tests to create, update or delete various OpenStack resources.
      • Enable these tests in upstream CI at lower scale.
      • Enable these tests in downstream CI at lower scale.
      • The same tests can be used by Perf&Scale team at larger scale.

Done - Acceptance Criteria (mandatory - Complete while in Refinement status):

      • Ability to run tests concurrently, the concurrency should be configurable
      • It should use the existing tooling like tempest without any additional tool integration.
      • Test should report results with configured concurrency, expected and actual results.
