Tenant Based Metrics

What is the nature and description of the request?

We need a server-side authentication for metric access, so that user in project A can't view metrics from project B. This will allow for sub-admin openstack users, who see only the metrics they are supposed to.

Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements)

• This is needed for VMWare style metrics
• (Required for the watcher integration)
• customers want to have a sub-admin without seeing all metrics for the whole architecture

List any affected packages or components.

telemetry-operator, prometheus pod, python-observabilityclient, possibly aodh. If we decide to add horizon dashboards, then horizon as well.

Unknowns

• Display of metrics in horizon or the openshift console?
• Integration of an Openshift and/or OpenStack persona
