      Feature Request Overview (mandatory - Complete while in New status)

      In cu RHOSO 18 environment, the observability stack (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana) successfully collects and centralizes metrics and logs for the controlplane and dataplane. (computes).
      However, Ceph, although functionally part of the dataplane, is deployed and operated in a decoupled manner from the RHOSO environment. Then ceph metrics are not natively integrated into the RHOSO observability stack

      Currently : 

      • Ceph metrics are available through the Ceph Dashboard (like ceph-mgr Prometheus exporters).
      • These metrics are not ingested into observability.

      Business justification (mandatory - Complete while in New status)

      The lack of Ceph metrics in observability prevents:

      • A unified, centralized view of infrastructure health.
      • Efficient troubleshooting across compute and storage layers (and not switching with 2 dashboards) that mean for example correlation between Nova/Neutron event and ceph performance or capacity issues.

       

      Functional requirements (mandatory - Complete while in New status)

      Provide an officially supported way to integrate Ceph metrics into the RHOSO 18 env by observability stack, for example:

      • Native ingestion of Ceph metrics into observability.
      • Supported configuration or tooling to connect Ceph exporters to the existing Prometheus/Loki stack.
      • Predefined dashboards or metric mappings aligned with RHOSO observability standards. The objective is to centralize observability for the entire RHOSO stack, including storage, and align Ceph monitoring with control plane and compute dataplane observability.
