Openshift.com is expected to be taken down by end of July.
Links to docs.openshift.com need to be exported to variables so that they can be updated easily when the replacement URLs are known.
The entry point for cloud.redhat.com is also changing in this timeframe.
Replacement URLs are not yet known. Announcement email follows:
Red Hat’s Open Hybrid Cloud strategy has been featured prominently at Red Hat Summit, as reflected in our many product announcements as well as in our customer keynotes and the stories of our Innovation Award winners. We announced expanding customer adoption of OpenShift managed cloud services, as we continue growing our OpenShift business. We also launched new cloud services, including Red Hat OpenShift API Management, Red Hat OpenShift Streams for Apache Kafka and Red Hat OpenShift Data Science, to further expand our hybrid cloud portfolio. We also highlighted our Open Hybrid Cloud strategy in our own Red Hat executive keynotes and demos and in recent updates to RedHat.com.
Our mission now is to build on this momentum and create a more expansive Red Hat Hybrid Cloud consumption destination at cloud.redhat.com by offering technical how-tos, demos, product guides with our hybrid cloud console and evolving the Red Hat cloud story on redhat.com with product content that drives exploration, learning, and adoption. As part of this mission, we are announcing a couple of key changes.
The first change is that we will be merging our existing openshift.com website technical content focused on product use with cloud.redhat.com to create an expanded destination for Red Hat Hybrid Cloud, and to drive the consumption and trials of OpenShift and all of our managed cloud services. OpenShift content at this expanded site will focus on how to use these services and best practices.
Secondly, we will work to develop a comprehensive content plan spanning all the web properties under redhat.com. OpenShift and all of our managed cloud services will benefit from expanded web site traffic, enhanced SEO, personalization and other major benefits from being more fully integrated in one location. We are proud of the rich customer content and engagement we have built on openshift.com, and will now be able to take advantage of the greater audience at redhat.com. There will also be a system-wide navigation path to help guide customers through the OpenShift and hybrid cloud experience.
These changes will happen over time, but we thought it would be important to communicate early. For those of you in the Cloud Platforms BU or who work with openshift.com, you should not see much impact from these changes, as we will be working to seamlessly redirect existing web content to new locations while retaining the ability to publish new content and updates and driving further integration as we go. What we hope you will see is a greatly expanded Red Hat Hybrid Cloud presence and a larger audience being exposed to OpenShift and all of our cloud services. We have a great cross functional team effort underway to examine the many facets and make sure these transitions are well considered and always in the best interest of our customers. Look for more updates from us as we implement these changes.
