Wrong instructions in the OpenVINO "Quick Start"

XMLWordPrintable

    • MODH Sprint 32, MODH Sprint 33, MODH Sprint 34

      Description of problem:

The Quick Start tutorial of OpenVINO says to spawn the "minimal python" image via JupyterHub, but if you do that you won't be able to run the sample notebooks as described. The reason is because the necessary libraries are not installed in the minimal image.

To use correctly openVino the user must create the JH image from OpenShift dedicated platform > Operators > Installed Operators > OpenVINO toolkit (namespace: redhat-ods-applications) > Notebook > Create Notebook. After that the OpenVINO image will start building and then it will appear in the JH

Prerequisites (if any, like setup, operators/versions):

      RHODS v1.1.1-29 installed

      OpenVINO operator installed

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Go To RHODS Dashboard > "Resources"
      2. Filter by openVINO
      3. check the tutorials/documentation

             Or:

      1.  Go To RHODS Dashboard > "Enabled" tab
      2. Locate OpenVINO tile
      3. click on "Quick Start" link

      Actual results:

The QuickStart says to spawn a "minimal python" image from JH to use openvino

      Expected results:

The QuickStart says to create the OpenVINO image and use it from JH

      Reproducibility (Always/Intermittent/Only Once):

      always

      Build Details:

      RHODS v1.1.1-29
