Unit tests improve the quality of the code base by ensuring use cases are tested upfront by the developer and include edge cases. They provided added protection to identify bugs early on in the development cycle. They also run fast as part of the CI in every PR.

The dashboard is currently lacking in automated tests. A small effort to increase the number of unit tests can greatly benefit future development and our confidence in quality.
