Description of problem:

When  using podman build I get following error:
 

Error: building at STEP "COPY --parents $EXTERNAL_SOURCE_NESTED/**/package.json ./": COPY --parents is not supported

Prerequisites (if any, like setup, operators/versions):

Steps to Reproduce

1. git clone https://github.com/janus-idp/backstage-showcase
2. podman build  -f docker/Dockerfile .

Actual results:

Error: building at STEP "COPY --parents $EXTERNAL_SOURCE_NESTED/**/package.json ./": COPY --parents is not supported

Expected results:

Being able to build images with podman
