We need to come up with a POC for the integration of external secrets providers so that Backstage maintainers can verify our implementation and provide more feedback.

Background

During Scaffolder SIG meetings, we have agreed that to test out the suggested implementation from our RFC, we will create a POC. This POC will consist of 2 parts:

• changes to the core scaffolder backend plugin to support external providers
• a new backend module for scaffolder for one of the external providers (eg. Hashicorp Vault)

These changes should be made as a PR to the core Backstage repository.

To make sure the idea is clear, it would be great to also record a working demo of this feature.
