Task Description (Required)

After engaging with the COPE team last week, one initial area of involvement they suggested was to document the state of MCP in Backstage:

• What's currently supported
• Incoming BEPs, and other open issues
• Support in community plugins? (MCP tools, MCP chat plugin, etc)
• Which SIGs are driving what work?

For now, just document this information so that it can be shared for our knowledge (and the COPE team's knowledge, as they've requested). But a potential follow up issue for this spike could be a Backstage community blog post (potentially timed after contribute our MCP tool plugins)
