This issue is responsible for updating the documentation for configuring a pre-existing Pipelines/Tekton instance manually. You can find the current documentation here.

During our manual testing of the software templates and the installer we noticed inconsistencies/issues/assumptions being made, mostly for the pre-existing instance instructions. The scope of this issue is to read through the manual instructions and ensure they work as intended for a pre-existing Pipelines/Tekton instance.

There should be no assumptions made about certain Service Accounts or Secrets or anything being present in the cluster/namespace prior to configuration, all information required should be provided by the user if it is needed.
