In OSCI testing for kernel-4.18.0-305.160.1.el8_4 in https://dashboard.osci.redhat.com/#/details/brew-build-67993350
The CKI testing for x86_64 and s390 failed
- https://datawarehouse.cki-project.org/kcidb/builds/brew_kqe_tier1:kernel-qe-ci-gate-rhel-8-4-kernel-4_18_0-305_160_1_el8_4-1877979895_x86_64_kernel
- https://dashboard.osci.redhat.com/#/details/brew-build-67993350?focus=kernel-qe.kernel-ci.kernel-s390x.tier1.functional
We seem to have a cluster of common failures as seen in the individual jobs
- s390 hardware - https://beaker.engineering.redhat.com/recipes/18970280#task196815198
- s390 VM - https://beaker.engineering.redhat.com/recipes/18970283#task196815234
- x86_64 hardware - https://beaker.engineering.redhat.com/recipes/18970276#task196815147
- x86_64 kvm - https://beaker.engineering.redhat.com/recipes/18970279#task196815187
all failed the LTP tests
- nice05
- preadv203_64
- preadv203
in the same way
Worryingly, nice05 fails on aarch64 and ppc64le as well
- https://datawarehouse.cki-project.org/kcidb/builds/brew_kqe_tier1:kernel-qe-ci-gate-rhel-8-4-kernel-4_18_0-305_160_1_el8_4-1877979895_aarch64_kernel
- https://datawarehouse.cki-project.org/kcidb/builds/brew_kqe_tier1:kernel-qe-ci-gate-rhel-8-4-kernel-4_18_0-305_160_1_el8_4-1877979895_ppc64le_kernel
But this is hidden by DW issue https://datawarehouse.cki-project.org/issue/3127 which is matching an unrelated regex and thus triaging the test as passing.
So clearly nice05 from ltp-20240129 doesn't work on 8.4 for some reason
I find the failures of preadv203_64 and preadv203 across multiple platforms in very different conditions extremely suspect, and I strongly suspect related to something similar with a systematic failure on 8.4
