Section number and name
- RHEL 9: 9.7. Performing rollbacks from a updated operating system
- RHEL 10-beta: 8.7. Performing rollbacks from a updated operating system
Describe the issue
The sections contain a note stating:
The bootc rollback command has the same effect as bootc upgrade. The only difference is the container image being tracked. This enables preserving the existing states in /etc and /var, for example, host SSH keys and home directories.
This statement is not true for `/etc` which state will be reverted to the state included in the rollback image.
Suggestion for improvement
Add the information rhn-support-jmarrero suggested upstream in his Merge Request [0] to the RHEL docs and change the note to the following text: "Existing states in `/var` are preserved during rollbacks, e.g. SSH host keys and home directories."
