      Overview

This initiative outlines the plan to deliver a built in, pre-installed Telemetry and Host Metering client ready to use and enabled by default to provide telemetry and metering data for all RHEL images including 1P, CloudAccess (Gold Images) and Marketplace (where is already available).

This will address the issue in our current model where we have incomplete metering and telemetry data in 1P and CloudAcess,.

      Goals

The goal is to provide an unprecedented visibility across cloud environments and driving data-driven decisions for customers and Red Hat teams

      Key Benefits:

      • For System Administrators: Reduced uncertainty during upgrades, improved security posture, and proactive compliance management
      • For Product Managers: Data-driven feature development based on actual customer usage patterns and version distribution
      • For Sales Teams: Targeted engagement with customers based on known environments and timely solutions with validated demand
      • For Support Teams: Dramatically reduced time-to-resolution through immediate environment visibility
      • For ISVs: Streamlined re-platforming guidance, improved operational support across variations, and data-driven upgrade recommendations

This initiative was discussed during the AWS Innovation Workshop in Austin and more details can be found here:
