I am unable to add a fingerprint to my profile, and thus I cannot log into my workstation with a fingerprint. (Logging in with a password is unaffected, of course.)

When I navigate in the Settings app to System - Users - my account, it shows "Fingerprint Login - Disabled". This is what I'd expect since I haven't added a fingerprint. After unlocking, and clicking to add a fingerprint, I see the expected "Scan new fingerprint" window. Clicking the plus sign, I expect to see the fingerprint add window open; unfortunately, nothing happens. (Thus I can't add a fingerprint, etc.)

This is on a Lenovo Thinkpad T490. The fingerprint hardware worked on this laptop, on an Ubuntu 24.04 install, and under Windows, so I don't believe it to be a hardware problem. Will provide any additional details needed upon request.
