What were you trying to do that didn't work?

Iso with embedded oci-archive, around 5GB, installing it with `ostreecontainer` fails because /var/tmp is full

What is the impact of this issue to you?

Installation fails because /var/tmp is part of the small / overlayfs but there is plenty of ram left, using a tmpfs would make everything work.

      How reproducible is this bug?:

      100%

      Additional informations

      upstream ostree ticket: https://github.com/ostreedev/ostree/issues/3436

On EL9, i see ~740MB of free space for /

On EL10 i see ~2GB of free space for /

Instead of patching softwares not to use /var/tmp, we can just mount a tmpfs for /var/tmp, I'm just not sure where is the best place to do such patch:

      • every iso builder project (osbuild / ???)
      • dracut-live
