A gfs2 filesystem appears to hang when accessing the gfs2 filesystem.

What is the impact of this issue to you?

The gfs2 filesystems will have to be unmounted.

Steps to reproduce

1. Mount a gfs2 filesystem
2. Then wait till issue occurs

Expected results

The gfs2 filesystem should not hang

Actual results

The gfs2 filesystem hangs.

Description of Issue

Access to a gfs2 filesystem appears to deadlock. It appears that there is an issue changing the state of the glock. This causes all other glock holders to be stuck in waiting state (W). 

NOTE: In the case, the customer stated (May 21, 2025) that they booted back to a prior kernel and no longer saw the issue, implying a possible regression between this kernel version and the one reported in this bug:

"To recover from this issue, we rebooted the nodes to old kernel (4.18.0-553.22.1.el8_10.x86_64 ). Post this change, we do not see any D-state issue in the environment. "
