What were you trying to do that didn't work?

      • When Enabling Screen Keyboard and trying to type extra character to Overview (hold character and click on the character appearing in the opened section) as a first letter. I can freely type those extra character after there is already a character present.

What is the impact of this issue to you?

      • For me this is an Issue found by a test as I test On Screen Keyboard inside the Overview. I can change the test to overcome the Issue but this is a bug in my opinion.

Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:

      • gnome-shell-47.4-2.el10.x86_64

      How reproducible is this bug?:

      • 100%

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Enable Screen Keyboard.
      2. Open Overview
      3. Hold 'e' letter and select the extra option. For example 'è'.

      Expected results

      • Character written.

      Actual results

      • Character not written and Screen Keyboard closes.

      Additional results

      • The extra option letters can be written with no issues if they are not first, I can write 'eè' freely. This is true for all other extra option characters as well.
      • When this issue happens, the highlighted letter stays highlighted, which seems like a part of an issue as well.
      • This issue is not present for example in Text Editor or ptyxis.
      • On every extra option character click (not only first one) the journal shows this error message:

      gnome-shell[6237]: (../clutter/clutter/clutter-actor.c:11926):clutter_actor_event: runtime check failed: (retval == CLUTTER_EVENT_PROPAGATE)
