Initially reported in Jira RHEL-88955, in addition to the size-related 
connection termination failures, the user observes different breakage when
using interactive sessions. Elided example:

[root@elided ~]# lftp
lftp :~> open sftp-int.elided.com 990
lftp sftp-int.elided.com:~> user elided

lftp elided@sftp-int.elided.com:~> ls
Interrupt
lftp elided@sftp-int.elided.com:/> cd /Test
