      Description

Currently RHEL does not support SCSI LUN passthrough into a VM. In the RHEL guide we specifically document that this is not supported.

Customers are asking us to support scsi passthrough and we have been doing support exceptions in select cases.

This support exception route is not sustainable. It takes more effort to review and approve support exception individually. Also each support exception demands support for specific releases with specific conditions/configurations etc and soon it becomes an unmanageable problem.

Hence we should look into supporting scsi passthrough genericlaly.

      • Decide what configurations can be supported
      • Do any bug fixing or feature developemnt as needed
      • Do proper testing and automate testing
      • Do proper documentation

What SSTs and Layered Product teams should review this?
