What were you trying to do that didn't work?

I tried to find a way to set the scaling factor for the large text feature in Gnome.

In older Gnome, it used to be in Gnome Tweaks.

What is the impact of this issue to you?

It seems the only (predefined) value of scaling factor is 1.25, which is too small for my eyes.

I need the scaling factor to be at least 1.4.

Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:

      gnome-control-center-47.3-3.el10.x86_64

      How reproducible is this bug?:

      100%

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Go to gnome-control-center -> Accessibility -> Seeing

      Expected results

There should be a way to set the scaling factor for the large text feature.

      Actual results

There is only a switch to turn the large text on or off.

      NOTES:

      • Workaround: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor 1.4
      • Please do not confuse "Change font size", which is setting of absolute size (in pixels) as one of parameters of a used font, with "Scaling factor" which is relative size of all texts (regardless of a used font).
      • Accessibility standards (see WCAG 2.0, criterion 1.4.4 - Resize text; referenced by Section 508, 501.1 and EN 301 549, 11.1.4.4.1) require:

"Except for captions and images of text, text can be resized without assistive technology up to 200 percent without loss of content or functionality."

If Gnome does not meet this, it should be fixed. The scaling factor (if implemented in Settings) could be limited to max. value of 2.0 or show a warning if it is set to more than 2.0.
