Bug itself has pretty low impact on user - as they are mostly converting already used VDO volumes - but the fix itself would involve some considerable effort in creation of reproducible small test case.

      Description of problem:
This should have been a straight forward conversion of a vdo stacked on md.

SCENARIO - multi_device_md_raid_lvm_import_vdo_convert: Test the conversion of a vdo stack on a multi device md raid volume
      'echo y | mdadm --create --verbose /dev/md/lvm_import_vdo_sanity --level=1 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sde1 /dev/sdd1'
mdadm: Note: this array has metadata at the start and
may not be suitable as a boot device. If you plan to
store '/boot' on this device please ensure that
your boot-loader understands md/v1.x metadata, or use
      --metadata=0.90
      mdadm: size set to 1952840640K
mdadm: automatically enabling write-intent bitmap on large array
Continue creating array? mdadm: Defaulting to version 1.2 metadata
      mdadm: array /dev/md/lvm_import_vdo_sanity started.
vdo create --force --name lvm_import_vdo_sanity --vdoLogicalSize 500G --device /dev/md/lvm_import_vdo_sanity
      Creating VDO lvm_import_vdo_sanity
The VDO volume can address 1 TB in 929 data slabs, each 2 GB.
It can grow to address at most 16 TB of physical storage in 8192 slabs.
If a larger maximum size might be needed, use bigger slabs.
