This ticket is to propose and suggest to investigate how to/process to to deprecate/EOL and ultimately remove obsolete flatpaks from the RHEL catalog.
One example is the (rhel9) LibreOffice flatpak, which I believe is no longer maintained or updated but still appears in GNOME Software in RHEL 10 for instance currently.
I don't know the complete list of this out of date flatpaks (I guess there is about half-a-dozen of them or more?). tpopela@redhat.com suggested I open this ticket here against flatpak to track (though it doesn't seem quite the right place, but it can be a starting point).
I think these out of date flatpaks need to have some kind of effective EOL associated with them - after which they should be removed or at the very least hidden from or marked obsolete in gnome-software and flatpak.
The EOL's might vary per flatpak perhaps: libreoffice is already quite out of date for example (eg the RHEL 10 CJK variable fonts do not render in our flatpak, but the new version in Flathub works fine).
What should be the next step here?
