In the scope the the effort at supporting OpenShift on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure on their ARM bare-metal machine, we would need the ibft kernel module to be included in the ARM build of the kernel.
This is required because these machines are relying on iSCSI boot volumes, and the connection settings to the volume are passed through the iPXE/iBFT.
This flow was validated with a test kernel in the scope of the following ticket: https://issues.redhat.com/browse/MGMT-19769
