The package wodim does not exist anymore in RHEL 9. cdrskin from the libburn component is a replacement. But if wodim is replaced by cdrskin during the upgrade, the wodim command does not work afterwards:
wodim: error while loading shared libraries: libusal.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
This is because cdrskin provides the wodim command using alternatives, but the installation of the alternatives symlink does not work during upgrade, as cdrskin does not handle the presence of a non-alternativized version of the binary. As a result, the /usr/bin/wodim binary from the wodim package stays as a leftover on the system, but its dependencies are not met, leading to the error.
Similar bugs exists in the libisoburn component, in the xorriso package (when upgrading from genisoimage or from wodim): RHEL-50015
Both this bug and RHEL-50015 break wodim, this is due to the fact that both xorrecord (from the xorriso package) and cdrskin (from the cdrskin package) provide a replacement for wodim and both have the same problem.
