Description of problem:
while running automation runs with RHEL 9.0, we are seeing an extra character being printed along with the command return value. The extra characters are breaking the automation validation at later point. See the attached snap for extra characters – ‘\e[?2004l’
We identified these extra characters are enabled as a terminal feature called as ‘Bracketed Paste Mode’ - Reference https://jdhao.github.io/2021/02/01/bracketed_paste_mode/
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
OS: RHEL9.0
Kernel: kernel-5.14.0-70.9.1.el9_0.x86_64
Multipath : device-mapper-multipath-0.8.7-7.el9.x86_64
How reproducible:
Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Map 40 FC LUNs to RHEL 9.0 host
2. Configure DM-Multipath on the LUNs
3. Create PV, VG and LV on all 40 LUNs
4. Create XFS and EXT4 file system on the LVs.
5. Start IO to the mounted filesystem
6. Extra character issue will be observed within 10mins
Actual results:
Extra characters is getting appended as an outcome of the command execution
Expected results:
Extra characters should not get appended as an outcome of the command execution
Additional info:
Please help us for the below query?
1) Is ‘bracketed paste mode’ feature enabled by default for RHEL 9.0 ?
2) Could you help us share ways to disable it permanently ?
