What were you trying to do that didn't work?
postcopy on the destination host can't switch into pause status under the network issue if boot VM with '-S'
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
kernel-5.14.0-526.el9.x86_64 && qemu-kvm-9.1.0-1.el9.x86_64
How reproducible:
100%
Steps to reproduce
1.Boot VM with '-S' on the source and destination host
2.Continue VM on the source host
3.Migrate the VM with postcopy
4.During postcopy is active, down the migration nic card on the destination
5.Check the postcopy status on the src and dst host
Expected results
the postcopy status switches into pause on the src and dst host
Actual results
Postcopy switches into pause status on the source side , but the destination doesn't
But when continuing VM on the dst host, will get the postcopy pause accordingly, like below:
(qemu) cont
2024-11-11T08:22:10.033277Z qemu-kvm: check_section_footer: Read section footer failed: -5
2024-11-11T08:22:10.033322Z qemu-kvm: Unable to shutdown socket: Transport endpoint is not connected
2024-11-11T08:22:10.033344Z qemu-kvm: Unable to shutdown socket: Bad file descriptor
2024-11-11T08:22:10.033414Z qemu-kvm: Detected IO failure for postcopy. Migration paused.
Note:
I also tried to skip step 2 of "Steps to reproduce", keep the src VM pause before migration, but the src side also gets postcopy pause status after the network issue
