What were you trying to do that didn't work? Attempting to display quorum and quorum device information using a user that is part of the haclient group doesn't work. It seems that only root user can display quorum and quorum device information. Specifically these commands failed when running under a user that is part of the haclient group
$ corosync-quorumtool
Cannot initialize CMAP service
$ corosync-qdevice-tool -s
corosync-qdevice-tool: Can't connect to QDevice socket (is QDevice running?): Permission denied
$ corosync-qnetd-tool -l
corosync-qnetd-tool: Can't connect to qnetd socket (is QNetd running?): No such file or directory
What is the impact of this issue to you? Customers do not want to use root to display cluster information.
Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:
corosync-quorumtool version: 3.1.8
corosync-qdevice-3.0.3-5
corosync-qnetd-3.0.3-5
How reproducible is this bug?: Every time
Steps to reproduce
- Run these commands using a non-root user.
Expected results: Expect that a non-root user to be able to display corosync quorum or quorum device status.
Actual results: Non-root user was unable to run these corosync commands
