      What were you trying to do that didn't work?

      "Server UI" installation (which is the default choice in Anaconda) installs a GNOME desktop with ptyxis as terminal (and no other choices like gnome-terminal). This fails to start, leaving the desktop without a terminal to debug issues.

      What is the impact of this issue to you?

      Makes it hard to investigate other RHEL 10 issues which affect the desktop.

      Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:

      ptyxis-46.6-2.el10.x86_64
      vte291-gtk4-0.78.1-1.el10.x86_64

      How reproducible is this bug?:

      Always

      Steps to reproduce

      Expected results

      Have a working terminal.

      Actual results

      Nothing happens when trying to launch the terminal. Starting it from SSH reveals why:

      $ ptyxis
      ptyxis: symbol lookup error: ptyxis: undefined symbol: vte_terminal_get_current_container_runtime
