Currently the virt-fs device does not support VIRTIO_F_ACCESS_PLATFORM feature (i.e. IOMMU/DMAR compatibility)
Goal
- Add support for the feature to the virt-fs device
Motivation:
- Currently Windows driver for virtio-fs device declares that the device/driver is not compatible with DMAR (DMA address translation)
- This feature is automatically supported by all the non-virtio PCI devices and by all the virtio devices except of virtio-fs
- This feature is mandatory for Windows Server 2025, as all certification should be done when the system is with DeviceGuard enabled. DeviceGuard is enabled when the devices support DMAR. Currently this requirement is not enforced, but might be enforced in the future versions of test kits or OSes.
