Problem
The base image configurations for Image Builder are defined in code in the images library of the project. This makes it difficult to discover the contents and other configurations of our base images. For example, answering simple questions like "What packages are installed by default in the RHEL 10.0 x86_64 guest image?" or "What does the default partition table for the RHEL 9.6 aarch64 AMI look like?" is non-trivial for anyone not directly involved in the project.
Feature description
Provide a human-readable repository / website that describes the contents and configuration for each artifact (distribution, architecture, image type) supported by Image Builder.
Implementation
The images library, where all artifacts are defined, can produce machine readable manifests for each base configuration. These can be used to automate the creation of this information on a regular interval.
