Description:

We are experiencing a rendering issue when using virtio-vga. The help page, when booting from the installation disk, shows a blank window, as shown in the attached screenshots. However, when switching to virtio-vga-gl, the help page renders correctly.
We tested this across multiple operating systems and QEMU versions, and the issue persists across all configurations.

Host OS versions (QEMU version):

• AlmaLinux 9.4 (qemu-kvm-8.2.0-11.el9_4.6)
• Fedora Workstation 40 (qemu-8.2.7-1.fc40)
• macOS 15.0.1 (qemu-kvm-9.1.0-stable)

Guest OS versions:

• CentOS Stream 9 (latest available ISO image: CentOS-Stream-9-20241007.0-x86_64-dvd1.iso)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start a virtual machine using virtio-vga as the display type.
2. Boot from the installation disk (e.g., CentOS Stream 9).
3. On the installation language selection screen, click the "Help" button.
4. Observe the rendering issue: the help page displays a blank window.
5. Shut down the virtual machine.
6. Switch the display type from virtio-vga to virtio-vga-gl.
7. Start the virtual machine again and boot from the installation disk.
8. Repeat steps 3-4 and observe that the help page now renders correctly under virtio-vga-gl.

Expected results:
The help page should render correctly under virtio-vga.

Actual results:
The help page is blank when using virtio-vga.
