Backport the fix for the `mkksiso –updates` option from the master branch. It apparently sometimes doesn't work to just place the image in` /updates/updates.img` so it has been modified to also add the inst.updates kernel cmdline to point to its location. Also include changes to the gating test to make sure the new behavior is behaving as expected.
