What were you trying to do that didn't work?

ISO image created by livemedia-creator fails to pass the media test (the default option in GRUB), the isomd5sum service fails and booting stops:

[    8.640187] dracut-initqueue[783]: + warn 'Media check failed! We do not recommend using this medium. System will halt in 12 hours'
[    8.641521] dracut-initqueue[783]: + echo 'Warning: Media check failed! We do not recommend using this medium. System will halt in 12 hours'
[    8.643323] dracut-initqueue[783]: Warning: Media check failed! We do not recommend using this medium. System will halt in 12 hours

I wasn't able to capture more information at this point (can't get to dracut shell via rd.break). I can provide you with more details/logs if I got any hints on how to do so in this case.

Running isomd5sum directly on the ISO file finishes OK.

What is the impact of this issue to you?

Our test for live image ISO fails, it doesn't seem that the boot medium (ISO file) is corrupted.

Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:

      RHEL-10.0-20240901.1 / lorax-40.5.6-1.el10.x86_64, lorax-templates-rhel-10.0-52.el10, dracut-102-3.el10.x86_64

      How reproducible is this bug?:

      Always.

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Build a live ISO using the attached kickstart (livemedia-creator --make-iso --iso boot.iso --ks ks.cfg --nomacboot).
      2. Boot the ISO and proceed with the default GRUB option (with media check).

      Expected results

Boot fails due to media check service failure.

      Actual results

      Boot is successful.
