What were you trying to do that didn't work?
It has been observed with certain models of laptops (for example MilDef models RK12 and RK15) that they are treated as a VM/Server. As such, if the power-button-action dconf setting is not 'nothing', the system will shutdown when the power button is pressed.
Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:
gnome-settings-daemon-3.32.0-19.el8.x86_64
gdm-40.0-27.el8.x86_64
How reproducible is this bug?:
Reproducible for customer this is filed for on said models of machines. I am only able to reproduce on VM.
Steps to reproduce
On the machines mentioned above.
1)Configure dconf key 'power-button-action' for org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/power to have the value of 'interactive'.
2)After configuring this, update the dconf database.
3)Press power button on Chassis.
4)Observe behavior.
Expected results
Settings such as 'interactive' show interactive menu when power button is pressed.
Actual results
Settings such as 'interactive' shut the machine down when power button is pressed.
