To be able to select a replacement for ports 80 and 389 during the installation process, possibly configurable through the use of a file that contains these values. That way, if there is a need to select some other port number, prior to performing the installation process, it would be an easy change. Also, once the server is installed, having a configuration would allow for an update after the package is installed.
Currently it's not possible to change these ports. In some more secure environments, this limitation makes so that exception packets are needed to allow a server to work and approval may not be guaranteed at all.
