What were you trying to do that didn't work?

A customer is build initramfs files with explicitly omitting drivers.
It appears that his driver name ("mc") leads to exclusion of more drivers, because the "mc" pattern matches for "async_memcpy" for example.
The customer hence needs the following PR to be backported to our code base:
