      What were you trying to do that didn't work?

      Update firmware.

      Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

      fwupd-1.7.8-2.el8.x86_64

      How reproducible:

      Update fwupd to the latest release and attempt to update the machine firmware. The end-user will encounter a blue screen indicating a security violation has been encountered. Downgrading to the previous package appears to resolve the issue in the meantime.

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Update fwupd to 1.7.8-2
      2. Refresh firmware repository
      3. Install/schedule firmware updates using fwupdmgr
      4. Reboot as instructed
      5. Observe MOK ("Blue") screen with security violation (0x1A) where SecureBoot is enforced

      Expected results

      Firmware update completes successfully where SecureBoot is enforced.

      Actual results

      Firmware update encounters an error similar to this during a reboot:

      ERROR
      {{}}
