+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Red HatBug #1896176 +++

      • Who is the customer behind the request?

Account: Fermilab - Business Systems (646274)

      TAM customer: no

      CSM customer: no

      Strategic: yes

      • What is the nature and description of the request?
Upstream httpd has implemented ProxyWebsocketIdleTimeout in mod_proxy_wstunnel. Please backport this to RHEL8

ProxyWebsocketIdleTimeout Directive was added to mod_proxy_wstunnel in 2.5 - https://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/mod/mod_proxy_wstunnel.html

      • Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
With the increased number of folks working remotely, use of wstunnel proxies is on the rise (cf noVNC). Having a clear way for folks to set timeouts in order to expire idle sessions is critical to terminating stale connections
      • How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)
Customer would like to use the new ProxyWebsocketIdleTimeout Directive
      • For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.
      • Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?
        None found
      • Does the customer have any specific time-line dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?
        RHEL8.4
      • Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input?
        No
      • List any affected packages or components.
