What were you trying to do that didn't work?

When pmcd.service unit is not started, executing pcp htop doesn't display statistics for currently running processes.

Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

      pcp-system-tools-6.2.0-2.el9_4.x86_64
pcp-system-tools-5.3.7-20.el8_10.x86_64 (for reference, but no need for a fix for now)

      How reproducible:

      Always

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Stop pmcd.service
      2. Execute pcp htop

      Expected results

      Process statistics displayed

      Actual results

      No process statistics displayed
