What were you trying to do that didn't work?

      Following up on RHEL-50161

When the file /etc/machine-id file is missing, is empty or has invalid content all executions of systemd-nspawn fail.

Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

      leapp-upgrade-el8toel9-0.20.0-100.20240724073902470405.master.92.g998b774d.el8-noarch

      How reproducible:

      always

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Delete /etc/machine-id
      2. Execute leapp preupgrade

      Expected results

This is a configuration error and as a safeguard, the upgrade should be inhibited and the user notified.

      Actual results

      A "random" error
